Audi presents A3 clubsport quattro concept

Audi is doing a great job with their concept cars. Last year, they showed us the Audi sport quattro concept on the IAA in Frankfurt and now they came up with the A3 clubsport quattro concept. This compact four-door sedan with its 2.5 liter five-cylinder turbo engine produces 525 hp and shows us what Audi’s A3 family is capable of!

The A3 clubsport quattro concept is based on the S3 Limousine. Under the hood, we find the 2.5 liter five-cylinder TFSI engine. In the concept, the turbo engine produces a maximum turbo pressure of 1.5 bar and a power of 525 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The result: a sprint from zero to 100 kph in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 310 kph. The five-cylinder TFSI engine is attached to the seven speed S tronic transmission with double clutch.

Unique thing is the airbrake. While braking from high speeds, the rear spioler is electronically placed into vertical position. This happens within a second. The airbrake increases the downforce on the rear wheels so the ESC can brake harder on the rear of the car. At a speed of 250 kph, this decreases the braking distance with 12 meters.

The colour we see on the concept is named Magnetic Blue. Next to that, Audi made several components out of carbon fiber. Other characterizing details are the sharp lined fenders which remind us of the first Audi quattro models in the eighties. At the back, the immense diffuser stands out. In the interior we see a lot of black and details in brushed aluminum create a nice contrast. In the front, the A3 clubsport quattro concept has racing seats with integrated headrests.
