The Carrozzeria Touring Disco Volante is a car which was shown in Geneva last year, where it looked very good. Too bad it was just a kit. Happely this year it will be shown in full glory, as a proper production model. To warm us up, Carrozzeria Touring released footage of the production process.
An Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is stripped completely in the first stage, after that Carrozzeria Touring works on the bodywork made out of aluminium and carbon fiber. Many work to this is done by hand instead of with modern-day technology. Nowadays almost everything is made by machines. On the last photo you can clearly see how much progress they made with the car at the moment. Under the skin, nothing has to be changed. The 4.7 liter V8 remained unchained, just like any other technical component. In Italy the men of Carrozzeria will work further to finish the rest of the car. The bodywork has to be painted and the interior has to be finished. When it’s in Geneva, you will hear more about it!
