Everyone already knew that Porsche would eventually come up with a new 991 GT2. It’s a big success for the hardcore race fanatics who’re looking for a street legal racecar. In short, it’s a Porsche Turbo, with rear wheel drive and a more sporty look. The first sign of life was given with this spyspot, where else than near the Nürburgring. What stands out is the fact that Porsche is testing with two models at the same time, which we can see at the license plates.
The location is quite logical. It’s a place which most of the Porsche GT2 owners will visit once, to see if they can keep up with the very fast Renault Megane RS’s. The 997 GT2 produces 530 hp from a 3.6 liters flatsix engine. The new Porsche Turbo already had a 3.8 liters flatsix so they will probably also use this engine for the GT2. The power will definitely increase but we don’t know how much power the car will get. This car has the spoilers from the 991 GT3, a car which isn’t spotted very often yet, so the eventual GT2 will probably look different than this spotted copy!
