Good end of 2012: RUG RGT-8

Tomorrow it is the last day of the year again. Of course we don’t feel good about a boring end of the year. Pedal to the metal we end 2012 and pedal to the metal we will start 2013. A good reason to extract an exciting scoop, the RUF RGT-8.

Spotter Methylone saw this car at a petrol station, by accident. This wasn’t the only remarkable thing, because Alois Ruf was driving this car himself! This RUF has many similarities with the other RUF-models, but under the skin things are completely different. As the name says, this RGT-8 has not six but eight cylinders. We talk about their home-made 4.5 liter V8, no donor parts from Porsche. The V8 is very high-revving with 8500 rpm, then it will give 550 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. For a ‘real’ Porsche with similar performance you must think of the 911 Turbo. The V8 is mounted to a manual gearbox with six speeds, very oldschool. The exterior catches attention by a bigger air intake at the back and a modified front bumper. Despite that many people will still recognize and name this car a Porsche. Until it will hit its topspeed, of not less than 318 kph.
