Is the Ford GT still something special in Dubai?

No car is too expensive for Dubai, and no car is too rare for Dubai. Since the 2017 Ford GT cost only $600,000 and 1,350 units were produced, it can be considered a rather unspectacular car in Dubai. Nevertheless, this is only the fifth out of about 30 specimens from Dubai that has found its way onto Autogespot.

When the Ford GT was introduced, it was a big surprise. While many complained about the loss of two cylinders, many enthusiasts were delighted with the outrageous design that resembles more of a UFO than a Ford. The Ford GT is equipped with a powerful 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine that delivers impressive performance figures. It was, of course, already the year 2017, and one had to say goodbye to the legendary V8. To maximize performance, the GT relies on advanced lightweight construction. The chassis is mostly made of carbon fiber and aluminum, helping to reduce weight and increase structural rigidity. The design of the 2017 Ford GT is strongly inspired by race car aerodynamics. It features a unique, aerodynamically efficient exterior that is not only striking but also helps minimize aerodynamic drag and improve road handling. Every detail of the design speaks for a modern hypercar, yet it still retains the DNA of the legendary GT40.

Ford produced the 2017 GT in a very limited quantity. The sale was not only restricted to a selected number of customers, but there was also an intensive selection process to ensure that buyers were genuine enthusiasts. The 2017 Ford GT features gull-wing doors, which are not only eye-catching but also contribute to easier access to the interior. This is, of course, also rather atypical for the GT, as the previous GTs always had the LM doors, which opened normally but also lifted half of the roof. The interior of the Ford GT is focused on driver orientation and functionality. There is a digital instrument cluster and a central infotainment system tailored to the needs of a sports car.
