The little British company Keating presented a new project last week. The Keating Bolt is developed for only one reason: driving as fast as possible. The project is quite ambitious and Keating wants to reach a top speed of 547 kph, next month.
Should we take this serious? When we look at the finishing of the Bolt, everyone will have its doubt regarding the performance of this car. The paint has a bad finish, components don’t fit perfectly and the material which is used doesn’t look as good as it does at other cars. Keating says that this is still a concept car which is one of the reasons why the quality isn’t that good. The name Bolt comes from a sponsor from Keating, the Bolton University.
What this car is all about is the seven liters V8 engine from General Motors which his upgraded. The basis version of the Bolt already produces 811 hp while the future record car will get a twin turbo system which will produce around 2500 hp. It will be a big challenge to get this power to the streets through a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. In October, Keating hopes to reach a top speed of 547 kph. Earlier, another Keating reached 418 kph. But for the price of 750,000 pounds, you can buy a lot of other and more beautiful cars. When Keating really breaks the record, they will probably find a few buyers, just because it’s a record car.
