Lamborghini Countach LP 5000 S Quattrovalvole: still epic!

Daily we see spots coming by of the Aventador, the Huracán, the Murciélago and the Gallardo. And therefore it is special when we see the car that gave Lamborghini its fame; the Lamborghini Countach. We are treated with a photo shoot of black (and gold) Countach LP 5000 S Quattrovalvole, the first of its kind on our site. A special thanks to spotter scott597 (Scott Schwartz Photography) for sharing this spot!

The Lamborghini Countach was produced between 1974 and 1990. Fitted with a 5.2 liter V-12 engine, the Countach was ground breaking in many ways. The design was, and is, timeless and it has formed the base for many of the Lamborghini cars after, including the Aventador. It was the first model to have the scissor doors, that have become iconic for Lamborghini. They were a necessity for getting in and out of the car while parked (in narrow European parking spots). The car was too wide to have the doors swing out like most of the cars so Lamborghini came with the scissor door option. The oversized wing was at the time a $5,500 option, and it looks stunning on the Countach! The LP5000 Quattrovalvole model was limited to 676 copies and this one is well preserved. What a spot and what a car!
