The SUV is one of the most important upcoming models when we're talking about the luxurious segment. Bentley is ahead of most companies with their Bentayga and Mercedes is thinking about an ultra luxurious SUV, the Maybach.
More and more researches show that the SUVs in this ultra luxurious segment will keep on growing. Rolls-Royce is working on the Cullinan and let's not forget about the Lamborghini Urus which is planned for 2018. Mercedes understands that it's getting necessary to come up with a luxurious SUV. Mercedes-Maybach is the most luxurious brand in the Daimler group and might use the GLS-Class to compete with the other brand. In an interview with Top Gear, one of the board members, Ola Kallenus, states that an SUV isn't excluded. It seems to be only a matter of time.
