I spotted this GT S Edition 1 numerous times last weekend. The first pictures were taken while I was sitting at the light on Ardrey Kell Rd at Rea Rd in Ballantyne. Then I saw it drive past Whole Foods in Southpark a little later while I was eating lunch. Then my brother and I drove around near the Southpark Mall for a bit while our mom shopped at Whole Foods, when stumbled upon it for a third time in the valet at the mall, just before it left. This was the second GT S Edition 1 I saw last week, but unfortunately I didn't get great pics of the other one.

@Horse-Power thanks West! I think the color accuracy is a bit off though.

@NCspotter, Earlier in the year I did drive a AMG GT S, and walked away feeling that the SLS was the better car. When I drove the SLS however it was on a track at Atlanta Motorsports Park. She performed better IMHO than a Ferrari 599 GTB on the same track. The GT S however did sound more powerful, with better acceleration. The gearbox was it's only weak point. In race mode the computer always wanted to choose the gear for me after braking for a slow corner, then immediately hitting the throttle. I noticed this same issue in a Mercedes rental car I had not so long ago lol. Once again excellent job behind the camera Nick! Talk with you soon.

@Horse-Power man, is there anything you haven't driven? haha. It is fun to spot these high-po AMGs, but there are some other cars in the same price range that I'd prefer to have. I guess because the original gullwing, the 300SL, was a little before my time, I never really found the SLS particularly appealing, and while the GT S looks better to me, I'd rather have a 991.2 GT3 with a stick. That's disappointing to hear about the transmission. My mom's car (which is older, and isn't a Mercedes) is similar, and due to the hesitancy to downshift coupled with a difficult-to-modulate throttle and turbo lag, it is really frustrating to drive. I think it's part of the reason I have traditionally preferred manuals, because it is only as good as its driver. Anyway, thanks for the comment, and I hope you spot some Lotuses soon lol. Tonight in Raleigh I did see a California, an LC500, and a first-gen R8 V10, but the Audi was the only car I could get any pics of.

@NCspotter Hi Nick. Ever since I started driving I have made it a point to drive as many cars as possible. My first track experience many years ago has really opened my eyes on how these exotic cars really handle. Some are just great street rides, and the very special ones do everything well. I really hope that you try a car next year, it will really blow your mind. believe it or not you have to learn how to drive all over again. Job well done on that Lotus spot buddy! I will be looking forward to that Audi post brother! Talk with you soon.
