News from Maranello: Ferrari 812 Superfast

Back in 1947, Enzo Ferrari introduced his first car carrying the Ferrari badge. This was the 125S, powered by a 1.5 liter V12 that produced 188 hp. Today, Ferrari is introducing its latest masterpiece, the 812 Superfast, and it is powered by a 6.5 liter V12 that produces almost 800 hp! This might just be the last naturally aspired V12 Ferrari will produce, and it will go down in the history books as Ferrari's most powerful naturally aspired engine ever!

The name super fast is not new to Ferrari and it tells us one thing, this car will be fast, super fast! The V12 in the 812 is the most powerful naturally aspired engine Ferrari has ever produced. The 6.5 V12 produces 789 horsepower and 530 ft.-lb. of torque, and is linked to a dual clutch gearbox. It will take 2.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-62 mph and the top speed is a stunning 212 mph! Or should we say Insane!

Back in 1964 Ferrari used the name Superfast for the 500 series. This 5.0 liter V12 in this classic produced 400 hp, and today Ferrari is doubling that with the 812 Superfast. Ferrari will continue the tradition and the 812 Superfast will be introduced, just like the 500 Superfast, at the Geneva Auto Show in March. It will be on display in the color Rosso Settanta, a color specifically developed to celebrate Ferrari's 70th Anniversary.
