Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is family friendly

Always dreamed of a power-wagon like the Audi RS6 Avant and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate, but with a Porsche badge? Well here it is: The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo!

Porsche just presented the powerful Panamera Turbo Hybrid with 680 hp. That was great news of course, but the trunk space is limited and it seats no more than 4 people. So if you have a family of 5 and like to carry a lot of luggage the Panamera Sport Turismo is the answer. And it is a lot more practical for day to day life. Yes, the rear seats in the standard Panamera are gorgeous, but good luck sitting with 3 (or more) in the back. Or if you want to lay something flat in the back, the Panamera was really never designed for that purpose. But this is a game changer!

It started in 2012 as a concept study, and we are glad Porsche had the "balls" to move forward with this project. All luggage fits easily in the variable luggage compartment. The cargo position gives you up to 1,390 liters of storage space for this. The 630-mm loading sill is comparatively low, which makes it easier to load larger objects in particular. The car will be powered by the new V6 Turbo, V6 biturbo or V8 biturbo engine, depending on the model. The 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) provides the acceleration you would expect from a Porsche.

Overall this is a unique car, and to be honest, a little more exclusive than the Audi RS6 or Mercedes-AMG E63 wagons, especially since these cars come in base models. If your neighbors or friends are not car enthousiasts they might have a hard time understanding the meaning of an RS or AMG badge, and that is something you don't have to worry about with the Porsche badge.
