Yellow 918s are incredibly rare, as only a few people chose to configure their 918 in Racing Yellow, despite it being a standard color.
It is always difficult to determine the exact number of cars painted in a particular shade. With collector's items like the 918, there may be some that have never seen the light of day. According to my research, however, fewer than 30 918 Spyders were built in yellow. That is remarkably low, making it extremely challenging for spotters to catch a glimpse of one. Having had the opportunity to see one myself, I can confidently say that it is among the most stunning paint finishes available for the 918 (excluding a few Porsche PTS colors that were not painted on the 918 anyway).
Only a handful of yellow 918s have been uploaded to Autogespot so far, including this one, which is being showcased for the very first time. Photographer Westraser was fortunate enough to capture this 918 as it was being transported in an open truck and driven through the streets of Tokyo.
