These are two words I could use to describe this car. Only 51 (or 55, sources differ) examples have been built and when we are talking about the 964 generation this car ranks high in the list collectible cars. This car was build to race in the European Pro GT and the American Supercar Series. This rarity is often accompanied by an extreme price tag, this Porsche is no different with prices for these cars are already going well over a Million dollars.
The car is powered by a naturally aspirated, air cooled Six-cylinder engine. It was told to produce 325bhp but in reality power output was quite a bit higher, rumored to be around the 375 mark. Back when the first model was delivered in the US it was told to hit 60MPH in only 3,7 seconds wich was faster than the Ferrari F40 even though that car was supercharged! Of course everything was designed for speed on the racetrack, thinner lighter glass was used, and only a single recaro seat was installed in the car. All this speed resulted in many victories in many different races such as the 1194 Spa 1000KM aswell as the 1000KM of Interlagos in Brazil.
Originally 27 cars were deliverd to Germany, 11 were delivered to the USA, Japan, Italy and The united kingdom each got 3 cars delivered to them whereas Monaco, Holland, Austria and Australia each got 1 allocated car. Ofcoure we are living in 2020 now and production of this car ended 26 years ago so many of these cars will have been imported and exported over time.
