RUF CTR 1 spotted in China

RUF build up a seriously big reputation in the tuning section. It might be no surprise they are making true masterpieces like the RUF CTR-3 and the RUF RT12S. As the name says, it is the third version of the CTR. Is all started with the CTR-1, nicknamed Yellowbird.

The name Yellowbird is no surprise. The yellow paint looks stunning on the RUF, and of course the big wing at the back looks stunning too. When you see one, expect a lovely soundtrack from the big exhaust, because RUF is lord and master when it comes to sound. The CTR-1 is based on a Porsche 964 and of course a lot of things are modified, all to make it faster and sportier. An tuned and improved engine and drivetrain is one of those things, so as a lighter bodywork and integrated rollcage and an enormous list of modifications. After the conversions you can’t compare the CTR-1 with the 964, it is from a competely different level on any surface.

Thanks to the modifications the flat six delivers 469 bhp and 553 Nm. With that you can easily sprint to hundred kph in just 3.7 seconds, the topspeed lays around 320 kph. Superb performance for a car which has got its 25th anniversary this year!
