The BAE Vantare GT resurfaces in London

As you wander through the streets of London and catch a glimpse of this car from a distance, you might think it's an Aston Martin DB5 or DB6. However, as you get closer, you'll notice that the proportions and shape don't quite match. By the time you're standing right in front of the car, even an amateur should realize that it's anything but a DB5 or DB6.

The BAE Vantare GT, though, is manufactured in the UK, in Essex, just like the example you're following. Under the hood of this peculiar car lies nothing other than a powerful V12 engine. In fact, they used an Aston Martin as the base, specifically the DB9 produced in Gaydon between 2004 and 2016. However, it's quite a construction site. Only the roof and windows from the original Aston Martin remain. Everything else has been completely redesigned, in the style of the classic cars famously driven by Sean Connery as James Bond 007.

In fact, this is an ultra-rare specimen. They produced only 10 of these. The six-liter V12 engine with an automatic transmission ensures that the Vantare accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and goes on to reach a top speed of over 180 mph.
Since the car was almost entirely handcrafted, it comes with a hefty price tag. Prices start at £275,000.
