The successor to the legendary 959

The successor to the legendary 959

The Gemballa Marsien is intended to be a tribute to the legendary Porsche 959 of the 80s. And it does so in every aspect. Especially the spoiler, which embodies the typical 959 shape, distinguishes this vehicle.

The Marsien is, so to speak, a modified model of the legendary Porsche 959. Its modern 992 design, combined with old design elements and some Gemballa touches, makes this car quite cool. When you press the lift mode button, it can be raised hydraulically, from 12 to 25 cm ground clearance, allowing it to drive slightly off the road. Just like its predecessor, the 959.
The technical data is also very interesting, as the Marsien is based on the latest Porsche 911 Turbo S model, the 992. This is reflected in several aspects, of course. The Marsien naturally features the well-known 6-cylinder boxer engine from Porsche, which produces 750 horsepower. With this power, the Marsien reaches an astonishing speed of 335 km/h on the speedometer. These are indeed remarkable figures. The weight of the Gemballa is 1750 kg. The Marsien is equipped with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission from Porsche.

If one pays attention to the name of this vehicle, one comes to the conclusion that it is something different from the conventional Gemballas, which gained popularity especially in the 2000s-2010s. However, the whole format is somewhat different from the old ones, as it is also a different person behind it all. In the case of the old Gemballas, Uwe Gemballa was the head of the entire organization. When he was found dead in a mysterious way, his son, Marc Phillip Gemballa, took over the whole business and introduced the Marsien program in 2021. 40 units were planned to be sold.
Here, we see one of the prototype models that was spotted in Rüschlikon, Switzerland. The observant viewer has already discovered the highlight in the background...
