A BAE Vantare GT shows up in London

The BAE Vantare GT may be an unfamiliar car to many, and it might even be mistaken for the David Brown Speedback GT. In fact, the BAE seems to have a similar concept to the David Brown - a modern version of the DB5...

After seeing the 812 Competizione captured by Levi_carphotography in London, I stumbled upon this BAE Vantare GT on their profile. I've coincidentally heard a few times now that it has been mistaken for the David Brown. Let's shed some light on the matter...

Responsible for the retro look is a meticulously crafted body made of aluminum and carbon components, giving the vehicle a distinct 1960s aura. The underlying DB9 can only be faintly discerned. In addition to the body parts, the Aston Martin grille, chrome-framed round headlights, and slim taillight units also contribute to the classic impression. The car sits on 20-inch alloy wheels that suggest a spoke design. At the same time, the Vantare features modern details such as LED lighting technology, flush-fitting door handles, and integrated exhaust outlets in the rear bumper.

Technically, the Vantare remains a DB9, weighing around 1.7 tons. Thus, underneath the long hood lies a six-liter V12 engine producing 355 kW/455 PS, allowing for a sprint to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h. The donor vehicle is a first-generation DB9, produced between 2004 and 2008. Customers can also opt for a later variant as the donor vehicle and request performance upgrades. In the highest configuration, around 550 PS would be achievable. Additionally, BAE offers various upgrades for exhaust purification, suspension, brakes, and chassis reinforcement. New leather upholstery, decorative panels, exterior paint, and wheels can all be customized and tailored to the customer's preferences. The finished vehicle starts at €325,000.
